The Receipt of your Habit
I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about your body being your “receipt” of your habits, and I couldn’t agree more, but I wonder if anyone else sees this and maybe it’s not as helpful as it’s meant to be? Some of us are just starting our journey, or maybe your three years in like me, and we’re still going, still trying to get stronger, better, more educated. So many of those posts are of people that look like body builders, so just because I don’t look like a body builder, I don’t have good enough habits? There’s so much pressure out there. As I’ve said before, I’m not that girl posting my workouts or photos of myself and how much better I look than I did before. I’d like to, I’d like to get some positive feedback; everyone wants to feel good, have others notice how hard they’ve worked. But for one, I honestly feel like this would jinks me and I’d get fat again. And two, we all know a lot of women doing this are just fishing for compliments and their personal life probably isn’t as great as they make it seem. I certainly don’t want people thinking that!
But I saw another quote and it thought it was PERFECT.
“She did not announce her comeback. She did not post her starting weight or her before photo. She just quietly decided, in the middle of an already full life, that she was going to show up for herself. And she did. And she kept doing it.”
So, I suppose I’ll just keep doing it.
